Strictly Come Dancing star Hamza Yassin has opened up about how he’s lost 20lbs in 8 weeks, crediting his weight loss to the show’s gruelling training regime.
The 27-year-old, who is paired with professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova on the BBC One show, told MailOnline: ‘I’ve been working hard in the gym five to six days a week for the past eight weeks and it’s really started to show.
‘I’ve changed my diet too, I’ve cut out all processed foods and I’m eating lots of lean protein and vegetables.’
He continued: ‘I feel so much better for it, I have more energy and I’m not carrying as much weight around.
‘I’ve lost 20lbs in total and I’m feeling great – I’m really happy with the way I look.’
Hamza’s transformation comes after he was teased about his weight by cruel trolls when he first appeared on the show.
But the star, who is originally from Birmingham, has vowed not to let the haters get to him and is determined to make it to the final.
He said: ‘The trolls are just people with nothing better to do, I’m not going to let them ruin my experience.
‘I’m just focusing on the dancing and enjoying myself – I want to make it to the final and I’m going to give it my all.’
Good on Hamza for ignoring the trolls and focusing on his own journey – we’re rooting for you!
