Many of us are constantly on some sort of diet, whether it’s to lose weight, gain muscle or just be healthier. However, one person who isn’t a fan of dieting is the Queen of England, Camilla Parker Bowles.
In a recent interview, Parker Bowles spoke out against dieting, saying that she prefers to eat a “colourful and varied” diet instead. She also said that she thinks dieting is “ridiculous” and that she would never deprive herself of the foods she loves.
This is a refreshing perspective, especially coming from someone who is always in the public eye. It’s easy to get caught up in the idea that we have to look a certain way, but Parker Bowles reminds us that it’s more important to enjoy our food and be happy with our bodies.
So the next time you’re feeling guilty about eating that piece of cake or skipping a workout, remember that even the Queen thinks dieting is ridiculous.
The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, has spoken out about her views on dieting, saying that she thinks it is “ridiculous”.
The 72-year-old told Good Housekeeping magazine: “I think all this dieting is ridiculous. You should eat what you want within reason, and enjoy life.”
Camilla, who is married to Prince Charles, also said that she prefers to eat “colourful and varied” food, and that she is a fan of Indian cuisine.
She added: “I love food full of flavour and I like it to be fun. I want to eat nice things and I don’t want to miss out.”
The duchess’s comments come as the British public become increasingly concerned about their weight and health. In 2017, a report found that 61% of adults in the UK were overweight or obese.
With obesity levels on the rise, some experts have criticised the duchess’s comments, saying that her views could be harmful.
Tam Frater, a dietitian and spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, told The Telegraph: “We know that obesity is a major public health concern… So, for somebody in the public eye to make comments like this, it’s not helpful.”
But Camilla is not the only one to speak out against dieting. In 2016, the British model and actress, Emma Thompson, also criticised the culture of dieting, saying that it was “pointless” and “self-destructive”.
What do you think about the duchess’s comments? Do you agree with her?
