‘Standing on scale was devastating’: Mum loses huge five stone in months

When trying to lose weight, one of the most important things to do is to focus on eating healthy, filling foods. However, sometimes it can be difficult to determine which foods are actually healthy and which are just “healthier” versions of unhealthy foods. This is where research comes in handy – by learning about different foods and their properties, you can make sure that you’re filling your body with only the best, most nutritious options possible.

One food that is often lauded for its health benefits is oatmeal. Oatmeal is a whole grain, meaning that it contains all of the nutrients and fiber of the grain from which it is made. It is also high in protein, which helps to keep you feeling fuller longer. Additionally, oatmeal has a variety of other health benefits, including reducing cholesterol and regulating blood sugar levels.

When it comes to weight loss, oatmeal is a great option. It is filling and satisfying, making it an ideal breakfast choice. Additionally, because oatmeal is high in fiber, it helps to keep you regular and can even help to reduce constipation. Oatmeal is also relatively low in calories, making it a good choice for those watching their weight.

If you’re looking for a healthy, filling breakfast that will help you lose weight, oatmeal is a great option. Be sure to choose plain, unsweetened oatmeal, and top it with healthy toppings like fruits, nuts, or seeds.

A healthy weight is crucial for our physical and mental wellbeing, so it’s no surprise that more and more of us are trying to lose weight. For some, the process is a successful one, but for others, it can be an uphill battle.

One woman who knows just how difficult it can be to shift those extra pounds is 37-year-old mum-of-two Sarah Louise Johnstone. After struggling with her weight for years, Sarah finally decided enough was enough and set herself the target of losing five stone.

The turning point came when Sarah stepped on the scales and saw just how much she had to lose.

“It was devastating,” Sarah said. “I’d always been on the larger side but I’d never realised just how big I’d gotten. I knew I had to make a change.”

Sarah started following the Slimming World plan and was amazed at how quickly she started seeing results.

“I was so motivated to lose the weight and I loved seeing the numbers on the scales going down,” she said.

Within months, Sarah had not only hit her target weight of 11st 7lbs, but she had also surpassed it, losing a total of five-and-a-half stone.

“It was such a huge achievement for me,” she said. “I’d never thought it was possible for me to lose that much weight but I did it.”

Sarah’s impressive weight loss has not only transformed her appearance but also her health.

“I used to suffer from terrible back pain and struggling to breathe when I walked up the stairs,” she said. “Since losing the weight, all of those problems have gone away. I feel so much healthier and happier now.”

Sarah’s advice for anyone else struggling with their weight is to “just take that first step and give it a go”.

“I promise you, it will be worth it,” she said.
