Weight loss is a process that requires time, planning, and effort. But losing weight can be rewarding, both physically and emotionally. If you’re carrying around extra weight, dropping even a few pounds can improve your overall health.

Losing weight requires making healthy choices about the foods you eat and the exercise you do. But even small changes can lead to big results over time.

Try making one or two of these healthy choices each day:

• Eat breakfast. Skipping breakfast may make you eat more later in the day.

• Move more. Taking a brisk walk or doing some other form of moderate exercise for 30 minutes a day can help.

• Avoid eating late at night. Going to bed with a full stomach can make it harder to sleep and may lead to weight gain.

• Drink water. Staying hydrated can help you feel fuller and may help you eat less.

Making these changes can help you gradually lose weight and keep it off for good.

Sue Cleaver has revealed that she followed a “no-brainer” diet plan to help keep the weight off after shedding two stone.

The soap star, who plays Eileen Grimshaw on Coronation Street, told The Sun Online that she had to be careful not to pile the pounds back on after dropping from a size 16 to a size 12.

Sue, 56, said she cut out all processed food and started cooking from scratch to maintain her weight loss.

She explained: “I just cook simple meals at home now. I don’t really have time to be faffing around making complicated meals.

“I just cook whatever is in the fridge and pantry that needs using up. That way I know I am eating healthy, home-cooked food.”

The Corrie actress also revealed that she ensures she stays active, even when she’s not at the gym, by walking her dogs and taking them on hikes.

She added: “I never really had a weight problem until I hit my 50s. I just suddenly put on a bit of weight and I couldn’t shift it.

“I tried all sorts of fad diets but nothing worked. In the end, I just followed a no-brainer plan of eating healthy, home-cooked food and making sure I stay active.

“It’s not rocket science but it has worked for me. I’m comfortable in my skin now and I’m happy with my weight.”
